This really reminded me of Mrs. Ikner's opportunities that she always gave us. However, I didn't see them as opportunities. I saw them as torture! Lol but I wouldn't have traded time in that class for anything!
Ha - too funny Macy. I don't think many people like the opportunities much - or me calling them opportunities. I meant them as an opportunity to demonstrate what you knew or could put together to create something unique. Most students saw an opportunity as an opportunity to fail. Sad. I had an economics teacher in high school and she called our tests and quizzes opportunities, and I'd roll my eyes and say if I were a teacher I'd never do that. And yet, I did. And am. So I guess the lesson here is to be careful about what you say you will never do. The universe has a tremendous sense of humor and will very likely put you into the very situations you would most like to avoid. Just like I said I'd never work at a fast-food place. And yet I worked at McDonald's throughout high school. After my regular shift, I would have to go put on the Hamburglar costume and go stand and wave by the road. You don't know humiliation until you do that. Ugh.
But I'm so glad to have had you in my class and I've enjoyed watching you develop and grow - partly in this blog, and partly in your writing from class. Keep this blog going. I like to see how you are all doing after you leave my nest.
